Students at Ambassador Christian School got a rare glimpse into the lives of those who wear the badge on Friday, March 24. During a round-table discussion that aimed to erase any negative misconceptions the students might have about law enforcement, Torrance Police Chief Jeremiah Hart and four officers fielded questions on topics ranging from unconscious racial bias within the police force to concerns about mass shootings and new crime-fighting technologies. Hart said the forum, attended by 135 students from the school, is part of a trust-building campaign that the department is working on to reconcile with the community.
